Architect, General Contractor
Mr. Ball is a licensed Architect and General Contractor who comes from a nuts and bolts’ construction background, having worked for several General Contractors early in his career. Working for a design build contractor also refined his knowledge of the intricate contractor and designer role in building high end custom homes in Tucson Arizona.
Mr. Ball graduated from the University of Arizona in 1987 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.
Mr. Ball went on and worked for several Architectural firms which he designed, prepared construction documents and specifications for various Single Family, Multi Family, Industrial, Retail/Mixed use and Commercial projects in California.
As a forensic Architect, Mr. Ball has worked directly with building owners and insurance companies to diagnose construction failures and prepare the repair protocol for the building envelope including the monitoring of the reconstruction process. These projects include large commercial, municipal, hotel and residential projects. He has also worked extensively on analyzing and developing repair scopes and cost of repair for catastrophic loss arising from Hurricane, Fire and Earthquake claims over the last 20 years.
As an expert witness in complex construction defect matters Mr. Ball applies his comprehensive construction and design background in order to determine the failure mechanism and cost effective solutions to assist in the mediation and resolution process. Mr. Ball has been retained for both the plaintiff and defense in complex construction matters. He also has represented General Contractors, Developers, Architects, Subcontractors, Material Suppliers and Manufactures over the years.
Mr Ball has participated in over 500 mediations, provided deposition testimony in over 200 construction related matters and testified in over 30 trials and arbitrations in California and Arizona.
